Artem Chigvintsev will not return as a 'DWTS' pro for season 33 due to arrest for domestic violence

As Page Six can confirm, Artem Chigvintsev will not return to “Dancing With the Stars” as a professional for season 33.

“There were no plans for Artem to be part of season 33,” a source told us Thursday.

The insider shared the information with us shortly after it was revealed that Chigvintsev, 42, was arrested on domestic violence charges in Napa Valley, California around 10 a.m. on Thursday.

A representative for the Napa County Sheriff's Office told TMZ that officers responded to a domestic violence call in Yountville, California, and subsequently arrested him at the scene.

The outlet reported that there were injuries, but the victim asked for “absolute confidentiality.”

According to online records viewed by Page Six, Chigvintsev's bail was set at $25,000.

It is currently unclear whether the dancer's wife, Nikki Garcia, was present or involved in the alleged incident. However, she did post a recent Instagram story of herself in the wine region a day earlier.

The full list of celebrities who will compete in the new season – along with their professional partners – will be announced on “Good Morning America” ​​on September 4. ABC is not commenting on casting rumors until the official announcement.

Chigvintsev's arrest came just days after the couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary on Monday.

Both Chigvintsev and Garcia posted cute Instagram posts to celebrate this milestone.

“Happy anniversary my love, I can’t imagine my life without [sic] you are my everything ❤️,” he wrote under two photos from their wedding.

Meanwhile, Garcia gushed about their “love story,” reflecting on how she “fell in love with him” and knew it was “meant to be” when they started dating in early 2019.

Their son Matteo was born in July 2020 and the couple married two years later.

The former professional wrestler and the former Broadway actress met after competing together on the 25th season of “DWTS.”

Chigvintsev has been competing on the popular competition show for many years, joining the show as a troupe member in 2014 before turning professional in the following season of the same year.

The father of one starred in the series for nine seasons before being cut from the series for season 28 in 2019.

“It’s weird. To dedicate the last 10 years to something, to absolute all [into it] … it's not even a job, it's a lifestyle if you've been doing it for a very long time.”
