(Photo) Arne Slot reacts to the banner of the Liverpool fans before kick-off

Arne Slot takes charge of his first official Anfield game as Liverpool head coach this afternoon and was given a warm welcome by the loyal Merseyside fans before kick-off.

As the Dutchman emerged from the tunnel into the main stand, he looked to his left and noticed something among the spectators that caught his attention: a banner from a group of fans showing their support by saying that they were “behind him”.

When the 45-year-old noticed, he smiled and gave a thumbs up, no doubt appreciating the reception as he looks to build on the legacy of his predecessor, Jürgen Klopp.

If Slot can deliver consistent results on the pitch and keep Liverpool in the race for the big title, he will have no trouble keeping the club's fans on his side!
