The Democratic Party Convention is scheduled to begin on Monday in Chicago.

The event follows last month's Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where former President Donald Trump formally accepted his nomination as the Republican presidential nominee and announced Ohio Senator JD Vance as his vice presidential running mate.

Normally, the DNC, like the RNC, conducts a roll call vote to officially select the party's nominee. However, Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota were officially nominated through an early online roll call vote. The candidates will speak during this year's convention, which ends Thursday.
