In 2019, Brazilian Amanda Ribas won a clear unanimous decision victory over Jiu-Jitsu fighter Mackenzie Dern. Since then, both fighters have firmly established themselves in the top ten and will try to potentially break into the top five with a win.

Ribas, 30, trains with American Top Team to hone her already excellent skills in judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. During her UFC run, she defeated notable opponents such as Mackenzie Dern, Paige VanZant, Virna Jandiroba and Viviane Araújo, most recently suffering a loss to former champion Rose Namajunas.

Fan-favorite Mackenzie Dern struggled to maintain her weight early in her UFC career, but has been solid on the scales and in the cage since then. Her background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has allowed her to defeat Angela Hill, Tecia Torres, Nina Nunes, and others. In her most recent fight, she was able to defeat highly regarded wrestler Loopy Godinez.

Both fighters have a Jiu-Jitsu foundation, but have also developed some impressive striking techniques. Dern is known for her solid jab and the power of her overhand. Last year, Ribas scored a TKO victory with a shocking spinning back kick against Luana Pinheiro.

Brazilian-American Mackenzie Dern will be looking to avenge her previous loss to the highly talented Amanda Ribas when they rematch at a UFC Fight Night event on December 14. No other fights are currently booked for that event.
