Skies Of Arcadia-inspired JRPG Sky Oceans has a release date

PQube & Octeto Studios have announced the release date for Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire, an immersive role-playing game inspired by Skies of Arcadia that sees players engage in aerial combat controlled via classic turn-based gameplay.

Release for Nintendo Switch on October 10, 2024there's a demo available now via Steam if you want to get a taste of the action before release. The general gist of the story, however, is that you take control of Captain Glenn Windwalker, who must recruit and manage a ragtag band of pirates. You can explore various locations on foot, but the actual gameplay takes place in the air.

Further details are a little sparse at the moment, but we're admittedly curious enough to learn more. Why do we need to recruit a crew? What is our end goal? The colorful, stylish graphics do a lot of the work in the trailer above, and we're excited to see what the actual gameplay will look like.
