MUNCIE, Indiana – A Delaware Circuit Court 5 jury on Thursday found an Indianapolis man guilty on three counts of child molestation.

Jamarris Harrison Lewis, 43 – also listed in court documents with a Tennessee address – was found guilty of two Level 1 felonies, punishable by up to 40 years in prison, and a Level 4 felony, punishable by a maximum sentence of 12 years.

The guilty verdicts were reached after about five hours of deliberation. Judge Thomas Cannon Jr. scheduled sentencing for September 16.

Lewis was accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a girl under the age of 14 in Delaware County in 2019. The charges against him were filed in June 2021.

“Child abuse, in any form, will not be tolerated in Delaware County,” District Attorney Eric Hoffman said in a press release Thursday.

Court records show that Lewis had previously been convicted in Marion County of crimes including assault, domestic violence and trespassing.
