Vettaiyan cinema release announced: Rajinikanth's action film with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role will be released on THIS date

Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming project Vettaiyan has been in the news for all the right reasons. The fans of Thalaiva can expect a stellar performance from the veteran actor in the action drama, which was clear from the first look at the film. And amidst all the excitement, the makers have finally announced the release date of the film Vettaiyan.

A few moments ago, the official X-account (formerly Twitter) of Lyca Productions shared a dazzling poster of Vettaiyan, featuring Rajinikanth in a police uniform. At the same time, the release date of the film was also announced. Vettaiyan will hit the theatres on October 10, 2024. The film is scheduled to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages.

It seems that the release date of the film coincides with the auspicious festival of Dussera. Undoubtedly, the film seems to be all set for a huge response from the audience.

For the unaware, apart from Rajinikanth's enigmatic charm which is expected to enthrall every audience, Vettaiyan is also set to mesmerise everyone with its star cast.

The star-studded film features some of the most famous and talented names in Indian cinema including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahad Fasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan and others. Vettaiyan also marks Amitabh Bachchan's Tamil debut.

On August 8, 2024, the makers of Vettaiyan released a snapshot photo in which Fahad Fasil can be seen along with the two veterans of Indian cinema, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan. The trio posed for a cheerful photo on the sets of the film. The photo itself promised endless entertainment to the fans.

According to several reports, Rajinikanth will play the role of a retired cop who is tasked with solving a dark mystery in Vettaiyan. The word Vettaiyan literally means hunter, which adds an extra layer of adventure to the film.

The film was shot in several Indian cities including Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai and others. The main music of the film is composed by famous composer Anirudh Ravichander. The film is directed by TJ Gnanavel.

Vettaiyaan was initially announced under the tentative name Thalaivar 170 as it is Rajinikanth’s 170th film.
