Early morning arrest after possible kidnapping in Tucson

TUCSON, Arizona (13 News) – A man is in police custody after officers were called to his location on Sunday, August 18.

Pima County officials were notified at 2:30 a.m. of a possible kidnapping in the Midvale Park and Irvington area.

Tucson police joined PCSD at the scene and said an adult male victim was with officers.

TPD has launched an investigation. Details are limited at this time.

Also around 2:30 a.m., Gabriel Altamirano, the suspect in a recent shooting involving a PCSD deputy, was arrested in the Midvale Park and Irvington area.

One person flagged down a Pima County Sheriff's deputy because he believed Altamirano was nearby.

Tucson police could not confirm whether these scenes were related.
