The San Francisco 49ers face the New Orleans Saints in Week 2 of the NFL preseason on Sunday night at Levi's Stadium.

The 49ers have been one of the NFL's best teams over the past few seasons, but their first preseason game was a false start, losing 17-13 to the Titans. Despite the loss, the 49ers were able to gain some important insights that they will now take into account as they continue to evaluate their roster.

Joshua Dobbs did most of the work at quarterback, throwing for 146 yards and an interception. Although Dobbs showed flashes of potential, the 49ers expect him to iron out his mistakes and run the offense more effectively this week.

Meanwhile, the Saints are in top form after a 16-14 win over the Cardinals in their first preseason game. Although the game was close, the Saints got the job done and will look to carry that momentum into their game against the 49ers.

Derek Carr played sparingly in the opening game, completing just two of six passes for 12 yards. It wasn't the most successful outing, but Carr's presence alone is enough to keep the defense on its toes.
