The ecosystem of sport is too toxic, I have too many enemies – complains Enoh

Minister of Sports Development John Owan Enoh has described the sports environment as toxic and too hot to handle.

The Minister, who was speaking at the reception of the Nigerian wrestling team for the Paris Olympic Games, aggressively lashed out at the vested interests and all his “perceived enemies” who are making his life difficult with their negative comments after the Olympic Games.

Blueprint can report that the Nigerian national team failed to win a single medal despite the 12 billion naira provided by the Federal Government for the Games. The Minister had boasted before the Games that Nigeria would surpass its records from the Atlanta Olympics, but this proved to be a mirage.

A visibly angry Enoh explained: “There are too many vested interests and hostilities. I have many enemies.”

“I can categorically say that life has been cruel to me. Nigeria has already failed at the Olympics once without anything happening, but I have been subjected to all forms of harassment.”

“There is a reason why we did not win a medal in Paris and we can learn lessons from it. Paris is a reality check. Life is a theatre of the absurd but I want Nigerians to focus on the next Olympic Games,” he concluded.
