Former Margate Medical employee arrested for allegedly embezzling over 0,000 in two-year fraud

Louise Felicia Pierre {BSO}

A former Margate Medical & Rehab employee is facing grand larceny charges, accusing him of embezzling more than $330,000 from the company over a period of nearly two years.

According to Margate Police arrest records, Louise Felicia Pierre, 40, of Port Saint Lucie, an employee of the doctor's office, was responsible for depositing patient checks from various insurance companies into the company's TD Bank account.

According to TD Bank documents, starting September 15, 2022, Pierre began depositing many of the company's checks into two other accounts linked to separate companies called “Notary Connection and Services LLC,” for which she is the sole signatory.

Arrest records indicate that an investigation into the theft revealed that the company listed under her name as registered agent and director on sunbiz.org appeared to have served as a vehicle for embezzling funds.

According to authorities, between September 2022 and July 2024, 207 checks totaling $330,805.66 were allegedly deposited into these accounts and large sums were subsequently transferred to Pierre's personal bank accounts.

Records indicate that this activity was first discovered when the business owner noticed discrepancies in the financial records.

The victim also recalled to law enforcement that in July 2022, Pierre claimed the company's endorsement stamp was lost, prompting the purchase of a new one. Without the victim's knowledge, Pierre allegedly continued to use the original stamp to deposit checks into her accounts while logging the checks in the company's records as if they had been correctly deposited.

According to law enforcement, Pierre's careful manipulation of funds and records showed that everything was in order, allowing the fraud to continue over an extended period of time.

The victim stated that Pierre apparently adjusted the amount of embezzled money in relation to the company's monthly revenue, probably to avoid arousing suspicion.

Following an investigation into the case, Pierre was taken into custody on August 13.

She remains in custody with bail set at $155,000.
