Experts call for lifestyle changes to combat increasing health problems

0

The old adage that “prevention is better than cure” is louder today than ever, especially with the rising prevalence of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity. Health experts warn that these non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are on the rise and that preventative lifestyle changes could be the key to protecting against these significant health risks.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 41 million people die from non-communicable diseases every year, which accounts for about 74% of all deaths worldwide. Experts like Dr. Vinus Taneja of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital stress the urgency of preventive measures. He stresses the need for a balanced diet combined with physical activity to prevent diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
