Czech Masters: David Ravetto takes his first victory on the DP World Tour with a breathtaking final round of 64 | Golf News

David Ravetto took his first DP World Tour victory with a stunning final round of 64, while his closest rival Jesper Svensson fell behind on the 16th hole of the D+D REAL Czech Masters.

Ravetto, 27, set an impressive pace with six birdies on the first nine holes in Prague on Sunday, turning a one-stroke deficit over Svensson he had the previous day into a three-stroke lead.

Svensson came back with a birdie on the 10th hole and was one shot away when Ravetto made bogey on the 12th. Both men secured birdies on the 13th and 15th before the decisive moment arrived.

Svensson ran into trouble on the 16th tee for the second day in a row, but unlike his amazing rescue on Saturday, when he hit a 3-wood 300 yards from the fairway into the middle of the green, this time it took him four shots to reach the green and then three putts.

Ravetto putted his ball from just short of the green and set up a birdie, moving him to 23 under par and building a four-stroke lead that he never relinquished.

He said: “I felt good all week. Our strategy was to just go for it and have fun and that worked well. Of course I was under a bit of pressure and my hands were shaking, but that's what you train for.

“After hitting my drive down the middle of the fairway, it was very emotional walking up the 18th hole. I almost broke down and started crying on the fairway. When I saw my caddy and my girlfriend, I couldn't hold it back anymore.

“I'm sure we'll have a great party – French people, we know how to do it! There will definitely be something here in Prague tonight and maybe in Paris next week.”

Scotsman Richie Ramsay shares third place with Ravetto's compatriots Adrien Saddier and Frederic Lacroix with 18 under par.

The English trio Brandon Robinson Thompson, Alex Fitzpatrick and Paul Waring shared sixth place with 16 under par along with Austrian Bernd Wiesberger.
