Fire in four-story building in Maryland leaves 24 apartments homeless

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Maryland. – Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Departments responded to a fire in a four-story residential building this morning.

Officers received a call about a structure fire at around 8:07 a.m. Saturday morning. Upon arrival, officers discovered a severe fire at the rear of a four-story residential building with additions to neighboring buildings.

Firefighters and rescue services helped evacuate residents from the building.

According to official information, 24 apartments were destroyed due to the damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
