DEO Budgam calls for strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct

District Election Officer (DEO) of Budgam, Akshay Labroo, today chaired a meeting of all district and sector officers of civil and police administration to review the implementation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in view of the upcoming assembly elections.
Initially, all district and sector officials were sensitized regarding strict adherence to the Code of Conduct during the 2024 general elections in the district.
DEO directed all concerned officers to sensitise their subordinate staff about ECI guidelines during the MCC.
He said that all the guidelines laid down by the ECI must be implemented in letter and spirit to ensure equal opportunities to all candidates and to ensure absolutely free and fair elections in the district.
Nikhil Borkar, SSP Budgam, also spoke on the occasion and stressed that adequate security measures must be ensured to ensure free, fair and smooth elections in the district.
ADC, ASP, CPO, Dy. DEO, all SDMs, all SDPOs, all Tehsildars and all SHOs and all Sector and District Officers of all Wings were also present in the meeting.
