2024 – Major water leak

0

The City of Montreal lifted the precautionary boil water advisory it had issued in some boroughs on Saturday evening following a major water leak last Friday.

The warning in the districts of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles as well as in Montréal-East was lifted around 8:30 p.m.

On its website, the City of Montreal recommends that citizens affected by the notice let their faucets run for a few minutes before using them and clean their coffee machines and ice machines.

The city also recommends replacing filters in water treatment or filtration systems such as pitchers or refrigerators with water dispensers. However, it is not necessary to empty the hot water tank.
