Due to the unexpected closure of the Cayuga County Office Building, county officials have announced additional relocations and updated contact information for several departments. The goal of the relocation is to ensure public access to essential services even during the closure of the main facility.

As of July 1, the Department of Social Services (DSS) has been operating from a temporary location at 157 Genesee Street in Auburn. This location, the former historic post office building, is open for in-person assistance Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Services such as SNAP, Medicaid and temporary assistance are accessible through dedicated DSS phone lines.

In addition to DSS, other county offices have also moved to various buildings in Auburn. Residents can find a comprehensive directory of these temporary locations and up-to-date contact information on the Cayuga County website. County officials, including Chair Aileen McNabb-Coleman and County Manager Steve Lynch, stressed that these changes are temporary and urged residents to stay updated through the county's official online platforms.

For ongoing updates and further details, residents are encouraged to visit the Cayuga County website.
