UFC 305 Live Results – Dricus du Plessis vs. Israel Adesanya: Updates, Highlights, Fight Card, Start Time

0

UFC 305 takes place on Saturday at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. In the main event, Dricus du Plessis defends his middleweight title for the first time against his arch-rival and two-time former champion Israel Adesanya.

Adesanya last fought in September 2023 at UFC 293, surprisingly losing the middleweight title to Sean Strickland. Adesanya's opponent at that event was supposed to be du Plessis, the culmination of an ugly feud that even included arguments over who is a “real African,” but du Plessis was unwilling to accept the fight so soon after his knockout win over Robert Whittaker.

After Strickland won the belt, du Plessis got his shot at the title and won via split decision. Now the roles are reversed as du Plessis and Adesanya finally share the Octagon.

The supporting program features some interesting matchups with many stars from the region. The co-main event is an Australia-New Zealand fight, with Steve Erceg taking on Kai-Kara France in the flyweight division. Erceg missed out on a title shot earlier this year – a title fight he was surprised to get. Kara-France, meanwhile, could end a two-fight losing streak after also failing to compete in an interim title fight in 2023.

CBS Sports will have you covered all day Saturday, bringing you all the results and highlights from UFC 305 below. The main event begins at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+ PPV, with prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET.
