5-star offensive player David Sanders Jr. moves to Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – There was little drama or theatrics as David Sanders Jr. committed to the University of Tennessee Saturday afternoon surrounded by his family.

North Carolina's most promising high school player chose the Vols despite offers from Georgia, Ohio State and Nebraska.

The Providence Day School graduate will soon share an alma mater with VFL basketball player Grant Williams. The current Charlotte Hornet graduated from Providence Day School in 2016 and was present at Sanders' enlistment.

Sanders joins a 2025 recruiting class that includes highly touted quarterback George MacIntyre, the best player in the state of Tennessee, and four-star safety Lagonza Hayward.
