Delaware family funds cancer research through ‘Team Rhino’ lemonade stand

0

MIDDLETOWN, Del. (WPVI) — The “Team Rhino” family has been diving headlong into funding cancer research since 2008.

The group was founded by Tracy Caroll, who lost her father to a battle with cancer. Since then, they have participated in many 5K runs at Yankee Stadium, raising over $40,000.

The team's name comes from a popular toy rhinoceros.

The younger members of the family, including 17-year-old Gianna White, have continued the tradition by running a lemonade stand each year.

Funds raised by Team Rhino will benefit the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation.
