JJ Wilde presents new single: “I’m not crazy, you’re just an asshole (toxic)”

Last month, the celebrated chart-topper and JUNO Award winner JJ Wilde announced the upcoming release of her album, Vicewill be released on September 20, 2024 and offers another glimpse into what will come from her most personal collection yet with the release of “I'm not crazy, you're just an asshole (toxic).”

Reflecting on the themes and inspirations of the new song, Wilde says, “As someone who has experienced bullying all his life, I have absolutely no time for it. Someone making someone else feel like shit to make themselves feel better is the worst thing in my opinion. This song is a letter to those who choose to put others down and actively try to hurt them. In my case, it was a group of mean girls, much like in the movie (there was even a burn book).”

Wilde continues, “This song is a rallying cry for those who experience bullying and don't know how to stand up for themselves. I wish I could have said that when I was facing it myself. Eventually I stood up to them and it all stopped, but I'm grateful for that experience. I have a lot more appreciation for people and kindness and standing up for myself and others.”
