Tennessee secures commitment of 5-star OL Sanders

Five-star offensive tackle David Sanders announced his commitment to Tennessee on Saturday.

The Volunteers secured a chance at a spot in 2025 ahead of finalists Georgia, Ohio State and Nebraska.

Sanders, who will play his senior year at Providence Day School in Charlotte, told ESPN's Eli Lederman that the culture within Tennessee's football program and his relationships with head coach Josh Heupel and offensive line coach Glen Elarbee were major factors in his selection.

“Tennessee treated me like family from day one,” Sanders said, according to Lederman. “That was definitely the place I felt most comfortable. The locker room. The recruiting. They have a great class and I'm excited to be a part of it and get better there.”

Sanders is the Volunteers' highest signing of Heupel's tenure. The 6'6″ and 250-pound player is considered the top-ranked offensive tackle and No. 4 on the ESPN 300 prospects list for 2025.

Tennessee also received a commitment from five-star talent Douglas Utu, the third-best offensive tackle and No. 11 recruit in the incoming class, in June.
