Air Jordan 17 Low “UNC” FJ0395-140

0

Earlier this year, Jordan Brand brought back the Air Jordan 17 Low “Lightning” for the first time since its debut in 2003. It follows another original colorway – the “UNC,” inspired by Michael Jordan’s Tar Heels legacy. The shoes are set to release on August 28, 2024, at select Jordan retailers for $300.

The Air Jordan 17 was first released during the short-lived Washington Wizards era of Michael Jordan's career. The 17 Low combined MJ's passions off the court, including golf (identified by the golf course-inspired traction) and jazz music. The hard-shell briefcase is inspired by the brass instrument cases used by jazz musicians. There are also elements of Jordan's evolution as a business person and his overall “grown-up” aesthetic.

While the Air Jordan 17 Low did not come with a briefcase in 2003, Jordan Brand has decided to include this premium packaging for the 2024 release, helping to justify the $300 MSRP. Despite this high price, the Lightning 17s are currently selling for double the MSRP on the secondary market; the same is expected for the UNC 17 Lows.

Below is the best look yet at the Air Jordan 17 Low “UNC” shared by @gc911; it will release on August 28th and will only be available at select Jordan retailers. Check out our Jordan release dates page for the latest updates on this month’s Jordan releases.
