Capital One offers free FAFSA help for application delays

0

Due to a delay in the opening of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2025-2026 school year, Capital One is offering free office hours to help college students and their families navigate the often difficult and intimidating application process.

During office hours, advisors from local college admissions organizations are available to guide students through the process, answer questions, and discuss changes to the application.

“One of the biggest hurdles we've seen with our students is the FASFA,” said Hannah Barclay, College Success Program Manager at College Possible. “Many students are put off because it seems very complicated and they miss out on important grants and scholarships. So the point of this initiative is to make this service available to the entire community.”

This free service will be available on August 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Austin Downtown Café, 106 E 6th Street Suite 100, Austin, TX 78701, and on August 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Austin Domain Café, 11801 Domain Blvd. Suite 160, Austin, TX 78758.

Both locations have spacious seating areas, free Wi-Fi and a wide selection of food and drinks.
