Rick and Morty: The anime shared the first look at episode 2

Rick and Morty: The Anime officially launched on Adult Swim this summer and has now offered a first look at what's coming next in Episode 2. Rick and Morty: The Anime is a brand new take on Adult Swim's original animated series that imagines a different side of the multiverse, where Rick and Morty are now experiencing a whole new wave of anime adventures. The first episode made waves with some firsts for the franchise as a whole, and now it continues as its own multiverse and space-time go awry.

Rick and Morty: The Anime introduced this new anime version of the main cast, but also brought in some new ideas of its own, as Rick and Morty soon found themselves in an ever-changing space-time. Rick himself was lost in all of this change, and it seems like this will put him on a collision course with the other Rick we also saw in the premiere episode. You can check out the first look here: Rick and Morty: The Anime Episode 2 below, discovered by Swimpedia on X.

How to watch Rick and Morty: The Anime Episode 2

Rick and Morty: The Anime Episode 2 is titled “Fighting Mother” and will be released in English dub for the first time on Adult Swim at midnight on Thursday, August 22, before airing in Japan on Saturday, August 24 (with the episode available to stream on Max the next day). The episode is teased as follows: “For the Smith family, life is mostly business as usual; Rick relaxes in a pseudo-world between multiverses, Summer helps Beth fight the evil Galactic Federation in space, and Morty falls in love with a mysterious girl; and it's all anime.”

The series is written and directed by Takashi Sano (who previously directed the anime shorts “Rick and Morty vs. Genocider” and “Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil)”) for Telecom Animation Film. The ten-episode series is produced by Sola Entertainment. Maki Nagano, Max Nishi and Takenari Maeda are producers, Yu Kiyozono is animation producer, Yuuki Kakizoe is assistant producer, Jason DeMarco and Joseph Chou are executive producers, Arisa Matsuzawa is art director, and Makiko Kojima is color designer.

Rick and Morty: The Anime gives a taste of what you can expect from the story of the new anime as a whole: “In Rick and Morty: The Animea new series from the world of 'Rick and Morty'. Rick relaxes in a pseudo-world between multiverses, Summer helps Space Beth fight the evil Galactic Federation and Morty falls in love with a mysterious girl who happens to be a timeless being.”
