Daredevil actor made fans believe he would return in Deadpool 3

A Daredevil star led fans to believe he was part of the cast of Deadpool 3. But was that their intention or was it just a misunderstanding?

Vincent D'Onofrio is one of the original Daredevil actors returning to RebornIn the new series he once again takes on the role of Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin. Reborn Stars Cox, D'Onofrio, Bernthal, Elden Henson (Franklin “Foggy” Nelson) and Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) sat down for an interview with Nikki Novak for Rotten Tomatoes TV. Cox said the characters will take on a darker tone on the Disney Plus show. The interviewer then spoke to D'Onofrio and said that the latter mentioned a major fight scene in the upcoming season that fans will surely replay over and over again. Cox turned to D'Onofrio and asked what he mentioned to Novak. D'Onofrio jokingly denied telling Novak anything, claiming to his co-stars that the host was joking a little and not quoting exactly what he said. Novak joked that she would never quote D'Onofrio directly after his co-stars laughed at her. D'Onofrio clarified that he was referring to a scene in which Cox's Daredevil fought “extremely cool,” teasing that it was “exciting.”

Novak pressed on this, asking if the show would be more violent now that it would be on Disney Plus. D'Onofrio hinted that this was the case, addressing a scene of his character that he never thought would make it into the series. He explained: “Some things in this show we go a lot further than the original show. There's one thing in particular that my character does and I can't believe it made it into the cut.” Novak tried to convince the actor to reveal the scene, but he joked that it was “highly anticipated.” Novak decided to just go with what the cast wanted to reveal and told D'Onofrio she would wait for that scene.

Daredevil: Reborn The more violent version probably takes the series to a new level, as the original series on Netflix was already bloody. There was a scene where a prisoner stabbed a guard multiple times in the neck. There was also graphic violence and gruesome injuries such as brutal fights in which bones were broken, dismembered or even decapitated. All in Daredevil was already extremely violent and brutal, so D'Onofrio's suggestion that his character do something he thought wouldn't fit in the show must be something very different and, in fact, worse than the beatings, stabbings and torture viewers have already seen on Netflix. Fans should look forward to this scene, and it's certainly easy to remember, as D'Onofrio said fans would replay it over and over again, so it certainly wouldn't go unnoticed.

Daredevil: Reborn Premieres in March 2025 on Disney Plus.
