Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Saturday met people from his Patparganj constituency as part of his 'Padyatra' campaign and alleged that there was a “conspiracy” by the BJP to keep him in jail till the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections failed due to the blessings of Hindu god Hanuman.

The former Delhi deputy chief minister, without naming party leaders, said that the central government authorities had filed cases against him and (Arvind) Kejriwal similar to those filed against terrorists and the drug mafia.

“After 17 months, I have returned to my brothers and sisters in Patparganj. They (the BJP) tried to keep me in jail on false charges till the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections. But thanks to the blessings of Bajrangbali and Ram Ji, their conspiracies have failed,” Sisodia told a crowd.

He said that AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would also be released from jail.

People welcomed Sisodia with garlands and some women also tied a rakhi on his neck. He enquired about their well-being and told them to contact him in case of any problems.

Slogans like “Manish Sisodia aa gaye, Kejriwal ji ayenge” (Manish Sisodia released, Kejriwal will also be released) were shouted by AAP workers when Sisodia met people in West Vinod Nagar area of Patparganj.

Sisodia's 'Padyatra' campaign ahead of the February 2025 assembly elections was launched in Greater Kailash constituency on Friday. The senior AAP politician will visit all 70 parliamentary constituencies in Delhi during the campaign.

He chatted with local shopkeepers and rickshaw drivers and got their feedback as he walked the streets. People greeted him, hugged him and took selfies.

Many children with his posters were also present.
