The Dodgers struck first in the series opener Friday night in St. Louis, using home runs from Mookie Betts and Kevin Kiermaier as part of a decisive five-run, six-inning en route to a 7-6 victory. Kiermaier's home run was a three-run hit to right-center field that brought in three runs, and he also added an RBI single in the second inning to finish the day with four RBIs.

Dodgers starter Justin Wrobleski scored four runs on four hits in five innings to secure the first win of his major league career.
