The Cincinnati Bengals will face the Chicago Bears in the penultimate NFL preseason game before the 2024 season.

The Bengals and Bears had a joint practice on Thursday, during which Chris Evans and D'Ante Smith were both carried off the field. Right tackle Trent Brown also left practice with a tight lower back. Rookie right tackle Amarius Mims is also out with a strained pectoral muscle.

The Bengals lost their preseason opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Paycor Stadium 17-14, while the Bears beat both the Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills in the preseason.

The Bengals enter halftime trailing, as the Bears scored on their final two possessions of the first half. The Bengals offense never reached the red zone in the first half, and their best drive ended with an interception at the Bears 22-yard line early in the second quarter.

Williams played the entire first half against the Bengals and capped it off with a rushing touchdown late in the second quarter.

The Bears push into the red zone, have the ball at the Bengals' 7-yard line and want to secure a 2-0 victory for the Bengals before halftime.

The Bears scored the game's first points on their first drive of the second quarter. Bengals defensive back Josh Newton was penalized for pass interference, accounting for 43 of the Bears' 55 yards on the drive. Kicker Cairo Santos made a 37-yard field goal to give Chicago the lead.

Quarterback Logan Woodside was intercepted by Bears linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga on second-and-5 at Chicago's 22-yard line. The Bears took over at their own 26-yard line after a 4-yard return by Ogbongbemiga.

The Bengals and Bears traded punts in the first quarter, but early in the second quarter, the Bengals are in Bears territory. Quarterback Logan Woodside completed a 19-yard pass to wide receiver Jermaine Burton to convert a third-and-13 on the second-to-last play of the first quarter.

Quarterback Logan Woodside was hit hard by Bears cornerback Kyler Gordon. Gordon blitzed from the right side of the defensive line and the Bengals had an empty backfield. Woodside didn't look at Gordon and was hit hard while sacking. The Bengals punted two plays later.

Cincinnati's defense again forced a three-and-out against the Bears' offensive starters. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams completed 1 of 4 passes for 3 yards.

The Bengals offense got a first down on their first series of the game, but couldn't make it to the halfway line and had to punt. Logan Woodside completed 3 of 4 passes for 14 yards.

Bears quarterback Caleb Williams threw zero of three passes on his first series of the game and the Bengals defense secured a three-and-out.

The Chicago Bears won the opening coin toss and will receive the ball to begin the game. Starting for the Bears will be quarterback Caleb Williams, who was selected with the No. 1 overall pick.
