Yuki Ohashi scores the late equaliser for Blackburn in Norwich

Summer substitute Yuki Ohashi scored the equaliser in a dramatic final spurt and Blackburn secured a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Norwich.

The Japanese striker headed home in the 87th minute to rescue a point after his team had squandered a half-time lead. Josh Sargent and Borja Sainz each scored twice in eight minutes in the second half to turn the game around.

Ryan Hedges had scored the first goal with a confident finish in the 20th minute, but Norwich were the better team for long stretches and continued to show this after the break, although Rovers had the last word.

John Eustace's side took four points from their first two games, while Norwich only picked up one point under new head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup.

The Canaries got off to a good start and Sargent twice came close to giving his side an early lead.

First he fired a wasteful shot wide after a poor pass from goalkeeper Aynsley Pears put Sondre Tronstad under pressure, and moments later he headed a corner onto the underside of the crossbar, but the Rovers defence somehow managed to clear the loose ball.

The visitors withstood the onslaught, however, and took their first clear chance of the game after 20 minutes. Big striker Makhtar Gueye looked good as he brought the ball forward and slotted it to the overlapping hedges, and the winger kept a cool head and fired it over the advancing Angus Gunn.

On his Premier League debut, Gabriel Forsyth almost equalised for Norwich with an audacious 32-metre effort, but Pears had to make an acrobatic fingertip save.

Then it took a brilliant last-second tackle from Tronstad to stop Sargent after the goalkeeper's poor distribution had once again left his team in trouble.

At the start of the second half, both sides struggled to create chances, but there was a brief moment of excitement when Marcelino Nunez's 32-metre free kick went just wide of the goal.

However, Norwich had more possession and equalised in the 65th minute when Sargent scored his first goal of the new season. Callum Brittain was robbed on the right by Tommy Doyle and the Manchester City loanee played a perfectly timed pass for Sargent to fire the ball into the roof of the net.

Eight minutes later, the hosts scored a beautiful second goal.

After a one-two between Nunez and Sargent, the latter reached the byline and the striker provided the assist, converting a low cross that Sainz fired home from close range.

Blackburn was stunned, but quickly recovered and equalised to 2-2 three minutes before the end of normal time.

A well-executed attack allowed Brittain to deliver a superb cross from the right and Ohashi got ahead of his marker and headed the ball past Gunn.
