Alien: Earth teaser leaks online, while surprising Alien: Romulus score revealed

Alien: Romulus hit theaters this weekend and, unsurprisingly, opened at #1 in North America. According to Deadline, current projections suggest Fede Alvarez's reboot will debut with over $40 million, following a total of $18.5 million in Thursday/Friday previews.

The film is already “Certified Fresh” at 81% on Rotten Tomatoes and has received a B+ CinemaScore. Alien was released before the introduction of CinemaScore, but James Cameron's sequel Aliens has the best rating of the franchise with an A.

This is followed by Alien vs. Predator (B), Prometheus (B), Alien: Covenant (B), Alien Resurrection (B-), Alien3 (C) and Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (C).

With a B+, “Alien: Covenant” is in second place among the best-rated installments, just behind “Aliens,” so it’s a solid result.

Back to the box office, Deadpool & Wolverine is expected to slip to second place with a $27-29 million gross after the film grossed $8.5 million on Friday. It Ends With Us is aiming for third place with $23 million.
