How to Download H2M Call of Duty Mod

Considering how far along the project was in development, it should come as no surprise that after being banned by Activision, the entire H2M download for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered was released worldwide in a major leak. Although the studio behind H2M is legally no longer allowed to work on the project, there's nothing stopping you from downloading the mod and playing it yourself. Here's how!

Step by step guide to download H2M mod for Call of Duty

Before we dive into the more technical steps of downloading the mod, you'll first need to own a copy of Modern Warfare Remastered on Steam. Unfortunately, it's no longer on sale, but hopefully you picked up a copy at the discounted price.

Unfortunately, the official website for H2M is no longer available, but you can download the H2M mod here! This link contains the required game mod files and then there is the server link. It is a JSON text file that allows you to connect to live servers to play H2M in Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered. At the time of writing, these links are tested and safe. That may change, so use your best judgement before downloading and installing the mod.

Once you have downloaded the game mod, extract the h2m.zip file. This will take some time, so be patient. After that, open the extracted folder, click inside the H2M folder, then select H2M files. Next, open the Steam directory for Modern Warfare Remastered, which should be located under Steam > SteamApps > Common > Modern Warfare Remastered. Then drag the contents of the H2M files into the Modern Warfare Remastered directory. If any of the files ask you to replace something, do so.

Now, inside the H2M file, look for “h2m-20240815T230815Z-001”. Access it and drag the H2M-Mod.exe file into the Modern Warfare Remastered folder along with everything else. This will allow you to launch the mod instead of MWR.

Finally, you won't be able to connect to a server unless you transfer the JSON text file named “Favorites.” Drag this file into the “players2” folder in the “Modern Warfare Remastered” directory.

Now you can launch H2M-Mod.exe. When you do, you'll notice that the server browser is completely empty, so click the “Filter Servers” button at the bottom of the HUD. This will automatically populate the server list with available H2M-modded servers so you can play!
