Panama City man arrested for sexually abusing a child

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A Panama City man is facing charges by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly committing sex crimes against a victim under the age of 12.

On Saturday, OCSO officials announced they had charged Jeremy Logan Ehlers, 32, of Panama City with sexual assault. The suspect was over 18 years old and the victim was 12 years old or younger.

OCSO investigators said July 26 they learned that a teenager currently living in Bay County was the victim of sexual abuse when she was eight years old and living in Fort Walton Beach in 2016.

Authorities said Ehlers was questioned at the Santa Rosa County Jail and told investigators the crime scene. Ehlers has been held at the Santa Rosa County Jail since Saturday.
