First Delaware Seafood Festival a success for First State

0

Shore Smoke Seasonings hosted its first Delaware Seafood Festival on August 10 at American Legion Post 28 in Oak Orchard.

The event included craft booths, beer tents, a cornhole tournament, live music, a kids' area, food trucks, raffles, giveaways and more.

Ryan Stevenson, event coordinator, said, “We decided to have a seafood festival. Maryland has one. New Jersey has one. Virginia has one. But no one in Delaware has ever done one. I talked to my wife Nichole, she co-owns Shore Smoke Seasoning with me, and I said I wanted to do a seafood festival. We had over 100 craft vendors, over 20 food vendors, and we had to turn people away.”

Tickets were $5. Children under 12 were admitted free. Proceeds benefited local nonprofits and the American Legion.
