Early team news

Riccardo Calafiori will probably start on the bench before his debut.

Fabio Vieira's participation for the hosts is questionable, as Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are without them due to injury.

Arsenal's starting lineup will largely be the same as last season, with Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz competing for the starting positions in attack.

But Thomas Partey will probably be preferred over Jorginho in midfield.

O'Neil will also be pleased with the news that striker Cunha has overcome his thigh problems ahead of this important opening game.

New striker Jorgen Strand Larsen is expected to make his debut after Neto joined Chelsea this week.

Welcome to Arsenal vs Wolves

Arsenal kick off their Premier League season TODAY against Wolves at the Emirates!

The Gunners know a quick start is crucial to putting pressure on defending champions Manchester City, who they face next month in a difficult opening game of the 2024/2025 season.

Can they mount a third-placed attack on the Premier League trophy or will they once again play second fiddle? That is the question on everyone's mind.

Despite a number of club records, including 35 wins in 52 games, ending the season without a trophy was a bitter pill to swallow for Mikel Arteta and Co.

But there is renewed optimism at the Emirates following the signing of Riccardo Calafiori for £42 million to bolster the team's defensive options.

Wolves, on the other hand, impressed under Gary O'Neil last season, posing an unlikely European challenge before finishing comfortably in mid-table.
