Baltimore police arrest 14-year-old in armed robbery in Southeast District

BALTIMORE, Maryland. — A 14-year-old boy was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with an armed robbery in Baltimore's Southeast District. The incident occurred on August 15, 2024 at approximately 12:08 p.m. in the 500 block of North Highland Avenue.

Officers arrived at the scene after receiving a call about an armed robbery. Upon arrival, they spoke with the victim, who stated he had been robbed by three unknown men. Officers responded quickly, searched the area and located three men matching the victim's description.

A street identification was conducted, where the victim positively identified one of the suspects. The identified suspect, a 14-year-old male, was arrested and transported to juvenile detention for processing. The other two males were released as the victim was unable to identify them.

Baltimore Police continue to make public safety their highest priority and are urging anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward.

  • Stamford Police Arrest Juvenile Suspect in High-Risk Raid on Fairfield Avenue

    STAMFORD, Connecticut. — Stamford Police Major Crimes and Drug Detectives, with assistance from the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team, executed a high-risk arrest warrant on Fairfield Avenue in west Stamford Wednesday morning. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old male suspect in connection with a recent firearms-related assault.

    The suspect, whose name was not released due to his age, was involved in a violent incident on Friday, August 9. During the altercation, the juvenile allegedly got into a verbal altercation with an underage female, pointed a firearm at her head and struck her, causing injuries.

    Following the incident, the suspect was charged with first-degree menacing, third-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

    On August 14, as a result of the arrest and a search warrant executed during the raid, additional charges were filed against the juvenile, including criminal possession of a weapon, possession of a high capacity magazine, failure to register a weapon, negligent storage of a weapon, illegal transfer of a weapon and drug possession. The suspect was transferred to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center.

    Captain Thomas Scanlon praised the investigation team for their quick action, which enabled the arrest and prevented further damage.

  • Toms River celebrates skatepark anniversary with special event

    TOMS RIVER, NJ — Toms River Township is celebrating the third anniversary of the Toms River Skatepark with a special event featuring live music, food trucks and exciting performances. The event, presented by Mayor Maurice B. “Mo” Rodrick and the Toms River Recreation Department, will take place next Saturday, August 24.

    The anniversary jam will feature performances from the Hell on Wheels team as well as an appearance from Toms River skateboarding legend Jeff Jones. Attendees are invited to enjoy a day of festivities while celebrating the local skateboarding community.

    Parking for the event is available at the Youth Services Building, Schencks Mill Line parking lot, and Bey Lea Park. Pedestrians are encouraged to cross the street at the Oak Avenue/North Bay intersection. Please note that there is no parking available at Bey Lea Golf Course.

    This event celebrating the three-year anniversary of the Toms River Skatepark promises to be a fun-filled celebration for both residents and visitors.
