Drug overdose and arrest in Berkeley County

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) is emailing an update on a drug arrest that occurred on Thursday, August 15 in Martinsburg, WV.

Berkeley County Deputy Webb responded to a drug overdose at the APM Inn and Suites.

Witnesses reported that the victim had met with Kassandra Brown and Eric Wattier before the overdose.

Due to the flushing noises coming from the motel room, officers suspected that drugs had been disposed of and obtained a search warrant.

During the search, 31 grams of narcotics were found.

Brown, a fugitive from Maryland, and Wattier were subsequently arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell and conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance.
