Kai Kara-France takes on Steve ErcegJeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC

The flyweight division will be in focus when Kai Kara-France and Steve Erceg meet in the co-main event. While there is no belt on the line, it feels like a decisive duel for both fighters.

Kara-France is coming off a somewhat controversial split decision loss to Amir Albazi. It was the first time he's suffered back-to-back losses since 2015, so he's entering new territory in his time in the UFC.

A defeat against another top-class opponent would be understandable, but it would not make it easy for the 31-year-old to fight for the title again in the near future.

Erceg is fighting for the first time since his unanimous decision loss to Alexandre Pantoja in a championship fight. The fact that Erceg was fighting for the title at all was an odd choice. His best UFC win to date is a second-round knockout of Matt Schnell.

The 29-year-old has made a rapid rise in the division rankings. However, a second defeat in a row would raise doubts about his performance.

Erceg built his success early in his career on a slick submission game, but his striking power is slowly catching up. He uses his length really well and mixes in jabs and kicks to keep his opponent at bay.

Kara-France has become a strong striker in his own right. He is probably the more powerful of the two and he has been around longer. That could make the difference as Erceg's chances of winning depend on getting things on the ground.

Prediction: Kara-France by TKO in the fourth round
