Diablo 4 update strengthens Infernal Hordes and gives you free legends

0

With the latest hotfix, Blizzard has a new Diablo 4, Season 5 update on the way, and it targets the new Infernal Hordes mode. The endgame activity is already one of the best ways to get to level 100 in Diablo 4 and farm the best legendary and unique items, and it's about to get even better. On top of that, there are a whole host of bug fixes and some handy UI improvements, and Blizzard even has a special free gift for you in the form of some pretty delicious-sounding legendary endgame items.

Diablo 4 patch 1.5.1 is set to launch on Tuesday, August 20th, and focuses primarily on the new Infernal Hordes mode, which is now a central part of the endgame. Blizzard continues to improve and enhance D4, and with two consecutive seasons hitting the mark, it feels like the demon-bashing fun might finally be back in the ranks of the best RPG games on PC – just in time for the upcoming Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred release date.

The new update improves several of the Infernals you can choose between at the end of each wave of Infernal Hordes. Each of the elite options now offers an additional +2 Burning Aether instead of the previous +1, making them a more serious competitor to the Infernals, who are currently proving to be the strongest option. You can also use the gold loot chest multiple times if you grab some extra Burning Aether at the very end.

Unfortunately, there are no buffs for the underrated Soulspires yet, but the Burning Rain sacrifice now grants 3-9 Burning Aether, triple the old reward of 1-3. That should make it an excellent choice, especially if you can grab it early and then find the sacrifice that will get Hellfire to spawn Hellborne. Even better news: Blizzard points out that this particular sacrifice didn't spawn Hellborne as frequently as intended, so it should be even stronger with the patch.

On top of that, Blizzard has a little gift for everyone. When the new patch hits, all players will receive a cache full of legendary items that have guaranteed stronger affixes, as compensation for an issue where players weren't receiving items with guaranteed stronger affixes when they should have. These special stat-boosted items tend to be some of the best drops you'll find in Diablo 4, so hopefully you'll get at least one reward that will improve your best Diablo 4 builds.

Patch 1.5.1 also includes some additional UI and menu improvements. Trade chat is now separated by world rank, party leaders can promote another party member to leader, you will receive an in-game notification when a new patch is released, and your clan name can now be changed. Rogue's Alchemist Control tempering option is also back after some issues were fixed.

The full patch notes also include a whole host of bug fixes, the most notable of which is that the Tormented variant of Beast in Ice should now drop the correct number of Pincushion Dolls for its advanced level. If you've ever noticed that your character's stats don't seem to add up when you're in town, that long-standing bug should now be fixed, meaning you should be back to full efficiency.
