Hezbollah fires 55 rockets from southern Lebanon at Israel

0

The Israeli military confirmed on Saturday afternoon that about 55 shells from Lebanon hit the Ayelet HaShahar area in northern Israel shortly after sirens sounded.

Part of the shell fell on open ground in northern Israel, but no injuries were reported.

Although there were no fatalities in the attack, the Israeli military confirmed that the rockets had ignited several fires, which are currently being fought by the Israel Fire Service and the Israel Rescue Service.

The confirmation by the Israeli military came shortly after a correspondent for the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese news agency Al-Mayadeen reported that the terrorist group fired more than 40 rockets in two consecutive salvos toward the Galilee.

Soldiers wounded by Hezbollah fire

The IDF also announced that earlier in the day two IDF soldiers were injured by missiles fired from Lebanon that landed in the Misgav Am area.

One soldier was in serious condition, while the other was diagnosed with minor injuries.

The soldiers were evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment and their families were notified.
