'Kalki 2898 AD': OTT release date and platform of Nag Ashwin – Prabhas' film announced

After a fantastic theatrical release, director Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas in the lead role, is finally hitting the smaller screens. Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani, the film was released on June 27 to huge acclaim in thousands of screens across the world. The film, which recorded amazing pre-release ticket sales, was released worldwide in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and other languages.

It is now known that the film will be available for streaming on Netflix and Prime Video from August 22, 2024. The platforms announced this on Saturday, August 17.

The Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD will stream on Netflix from August 22. As for the Tamil, Telugu and Kannada dubs of the film, they will stream on Prime Video from August 22.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, Kalki 2898 AD starring Amitabh Bachchan as the immortal Ashwatthama and Prabhas as the bounty hunter Bhairava. Kamal Haasan plays the role of Supreme Yaskin while Deepika Padukone plays the role of Sumathi.

The film was cinematographed by Djordje Stojiljkovic, the music was by Santhosh Narayanan and the editing was done by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.

The film, produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, ran for 50 days on Independence Day. Just 16 days after its release, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD announced that it has crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark globally.
