Redding police arrest two people in drug raid after large quantity of drugs discovered during traffic stop | State

REDDING, California — According to Redding Police, two Redding residents were arrested on August 9, 2024, after a large quantity of narcotics was discovered during a traffic stop.

Neighborhood policing officers stopped a vehicle as part of an ongoing investigation and made contact with Shawnathon Haley, 34, and Alyssa Brooks, 26, both of Redding. Police say during initial contact, officers discovered a significant amount of narcotics clearly visible inside the vehicle.

A subsequent search found five individual containers of fentanyl and one container of methamphetamine. A Lassen County warrant was issued for Brooks' arrest. He was arrested and transported to the Shasta County Jail before being extradited to Lassen County to face pending charges.

Haley was arrested for possession and transportation of narcotics for sale and driving with a suspended license. He has been in custody at the Shasta County Jail since August 13, 2024. Haley was previously arrested by the Neighborhood Police Unit on July 16, 2024 on narcotics-related charges and false identity fraud, according to the department.
