If you download Call of Duty in the future, you won't have to download Warzone at the same time. According to a new post from Activision, the publisher has announced that it will be separating Warzone from the Call of Duty games going forward.

“To give players more control over what they download, we are decoupling the download of Call of Duty: Warzone from other titles,” Activision said. “When you purchase an annual title, you will only download the files for that game by default.”

This means that if you want to download Warzone, you will have to do so as a separate download. This will not only reduce the time it takes to download Call of Duty before you can play, but it will also free up space on your storage devices.

“Flexibility and choice are important,” they said. “We want to give players the opportunity to download any Call of Duty, including Call of Duty: Warzonewhen and how they want it.”

This separation will take place starting Wednesday, August 21. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25 and will be the first game in the series to launch on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
