Unfortunately, the time has come, basketball fans.

The Kings' schedule for the 2024-25 NBA season was officially released by the league on Thursday, with game dates, times and TV information.

Sacramento will open the new season on October 24 at home against Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Golden 1 Center.

Of the 82 regular season games, 79 will be broadcast on NBC Sports California. Six Kings games will be nationally televised.

The reigning NBA champions Boston Celtics will visit Sacramento for the only time on March 24.

In addition, former Kings forward Harrison Barnes, who was shipped to the San Antonio Spurs this summer as part of the sign-and-trade deal that brought DeMar DeRozan to Sacramento, will return to the 916 with his new team on December 1.

Meanwhile, DeRozan, who spent the last three seasons with the Bulls, will face his old team on Jan. 12 when the Kings are in Chicago. Two months later, the Kings host the Bulls in Sacramento on March 20.

Before then, Kings fans can watch their favorite team prepare for the season when they host the Golden State Warriors at G1C on October 9th before packing their bags and heading to the Bay Area 80 miles southwest to face their Northern California neighbors on their territory on October 13th.

They will then host the Portland Trail Blazers on October 13 before finishing the preseason away against the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Other highlights include Sacramento's West Group A game in the 2024 NBA Cup. As in the regular season, the Kings will open the tournament on November 15th at the Golden 1 Center against the Timberwolves.

Their next two NBA Cup games are away against the Clippers on November 22 and the Trail Blazers on November 29 before facing the Houston Rockets at home in Sacramento on December 3. All four tournament games will be broadcast on NBC Sports California.

After ending a 16-year playoff drought just two seasons ago, the Kings are now aiming to return to the playoffs after narrowly missing the best-of-seven series last year.
