“The Crow” reboot finally in the planning stages

What is the story

After 15 years of development, the eagerly awaited reboot of The Crow is finally ready for the big screen.

The film is a reinterpretation of James O'Barr's 1989 graphic novel and stars Bill Skarsgard.

In the original 1994 film, Brandon Lee played the role of Erik Draven (The Crow), whose tragic death on set became synonymous with the film's legacy.

Nevertheless, the film achieved cult status and fans are eagerly awaiting the reboot.

“The Crow” reboot premieres this month

The Crow Principal photography on Reboot was completed in September 2022 and the release is scheduled for August 23, 2024. The film was originally scheduled to premiere in June 2024.

Shortly before the release date, an exclusive clip from the film was recently revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con. In the scene, Draven attacks a moving SUV as part of his quest for revenge.

Learn more about the cast

The cast of The Crow The reboot has been the subject of much speculation, particularly due to the tragic death of Lee, who played the original Erik Draven.

The upcoming film will feature acclaimed actor Skarsgard in the title role. Skarsgard is best known for his portrayal of the clown Pennywise in recent adaptations of Stephen King's It.

Musician FKA Twigs plays Erik's fiancée Shelly Webster, while Isabella Wei appears as Zadie.

“The Crow” reboot follows the example of the original film and the graphic novel

The plot of The Crow The reboot will stick closely to the original film and the graphic novel.

In the story, musician Erik and his fiancée Shelly are attacked. Shelly is brutally sexually abused and both are killed.

Erik is then resurrected by a mystical crow (with whom he has a telepathic connection) to seek revenge.

The reboot is intended to provide a modern interpretation of the story, with some changes to the over 30-year-old narrative.

The trailer for the reboot of “The Crow” promised a stylish reinterpretation

The three-minute trailer shows the ups and downs of Erik and Shelly's love affair before Erik embarks on his supernatural quest for revenge.

The trailer promises a slick and stylish reinterpretation of the classic '90s antihero, complete with plenty of bloody violence.
