Prince Harry and Meghan Markle start four-day Colombia tour with school trip

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle'S Colombia Tour has officially begun.

The royals landed in the Colombian capital Bogotá on the morning of August 15 (August 16 in Australia) for a four-day visit with a focus on promoting mental health.

Upon their arrival, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were welcomed by Colombian Vice President and Minister for Equality and Justice, Francia Márquez, at their official residence.

The photo shows Meghan hugging the Vice President, who wore a white dress to the meeting. This was her first appearance on the first day alongside her husband Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex looked regal in the matching navy stand-up collar Orlinda Vest And Arte-Pants Set with high heels by American designer Veronica Beard and Manolo Blahnik.

Meghan combined her stunning look for the occasion with a low bun combed back.

Prince Harry and his wife posed for photos with Vice President Marquez and her husband Yerney Pinillo to mark the start of the unofficial royal tour.

Harry looked smart in his blue button-down shirt and charcoal gray suit.

The Duke and Duchess were treated to morning tea and traditional pan de bono (Colombian cheese bread) by the Vice President.

The royals then made their first official stop, along with Marquez, at the local school Colegio Cultura Popular in Bogotá to meet with the students and the principal, wearing the same clothes they wore when they arrived.

Harry and Meghan joined other students in a social media insight session exploring the impact of digital spaces – a theme that aligns with the work of the couple's Archewell Foundation.

The Duchess of Cambridge also advocated being “independent and not dependent on technology.”

The royals later met with students and staff during the school break.

The school trip was the first visit on Harry and Meghan's four-day trip to Colombia after they were invited by Marquez to experience the country's “rich heritage”.

After leaving the school, the Duke and Duchess proceeded to the Centro Nacional de las Artes Delia Zapata, where they were greeted with a welcoming performance.

On the first day, the royals changed their wardrobe for their next outing.

Meghan wowed in a beautiful cut-out dress with wavy hair, while Harry opted for a casual white shirt and a neutral blazer.

After the visit to Bogotá, the royals will travel on to Cartagena and Cali.

Earlier this month, Marquez said the royals would “work with leaders, young people and women who embody the hopes and voices of Colombians committed to progress.”

The Colombia trip is just coming Months after the couple visited Nigeria in May on an unofficial royal tour.
