Elmo and Ms. Rachel release new School Prep collaboration video

0

While you're busy checking off the last things on your school supplies list for the year (or just starting on it—we don't judge), there's a surprise that might shed some light on the matter. A new video has been released on YouTube featuring preschool learning icons Rachel and Elmo, showing the two getting ready for school together.

This is not the first time Sesame Street has teamed up with a popular children’s educator, this is the first of three planned videos that Sesame Street created in collaboration with Ms. Rachel.

At the beginning of the video, we see Elmo getting ready with a brand new song, “This is the Way We Go to School.” In the song, Mrs. Rachel and Elmo demonstrate how to get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, pack your bag, and say goodbye before getting on the school bus.

The video then shows what a full day of learning in the classroom might look like, with Ms. Rachel and other friends teaching letters using games and other familiar songs.

In the video description, the goal is to model each step of preparing for a day of learning—from waking up to returning home—in the hopes that children will not be afraid of new experiences.

Two more videos will premiere on the Sesame Street and Ms. Rachel YouTube channels on dates to be announced, each with new songs from Ms. Rachel featuring Elmo and others Sesame Street Characters Abby and Cookie Monster.

A connection made in learning heaven for the little ones

It makes perfect sense to bring a legendary educational brand into Sesame Street and pair it with a current cult child educator, namely Ms. Rachel. Elmo in particular has been a staple in child-rearing for generations, featuring in numerous classic songs, skits, and all-around unforgettable moments.

“Ms. Rachel,” played by Rachel Griffin Accurso, continues to gain millions of fans with her engaging learning platform on YouTube aimed at toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners.
