The fighting game compilation appears to be coming out in November.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade classic is set to release this year, but Capcom has yet to announce a firm date for the fighting game compilation. However, it seems that a release date has leaked thanks to Shopto. According to the retailer, the game will release on November 22nd. It's worth noting that the page has now been updated to show “Release date to be confirmed,” but not before it was shared online by @Wario64. Readers should take this with a grain of salt as things could change, but hopefully this leak convinces Capcom to give us something concrete!

The announcement was made during a Nintendo Direct in June. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade classic contains the vast majority of Capcom's Marvel fighting games. The collection will be released for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Steam and offers players the opportunity to play the arcade versions of classics such as X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel SuperheroesAnd Marvel vs Capcom. In addition to the original arcade games, players can look forward to some nice extras, including original concept art. This not only gives players insight into the development process, but also a look at character designs that didn't make it into those games, including one for Cyclops!

Capcom's Marvel crossovers have essentially disappeared since the 2017 release Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinitebut there have been hints that this compilation could lead to a new game in the series. In an interview with Dexerto last month, Marvel vs. Capcom Battle Collection Producer Shuhei Matsumoto said that “there may be a possibility for a new Marvel vs. Capcom game.” Matsumoto said that this may take some time, but this compilation offers newcomers a chance to see everything the series has to offer.

It's rare that a compilation of older material becomes one of the most anticipated games of the year, but it's safe to say there are a lot of people excited about it. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade classic for release. It's been a long time since these games were offered on console, but even if the November 22 release date turns out to be inaccurate, it probably won't be too far off as the year is quickly coming to a close.
