This quirky adventure with different gameplay styles and genres will be released next month for consoles and PC.

It's been a while since we've heard anything new about The Plucky Squire, but this week we finally got a release date for the game. The Plucky Squire is a colorful action-adventure game that jumps out of a storybook and explores all sorts of gameplay styles and genres. It was originally scheduled for 2023, but last year no release date could be found. Now it's set to launch on consoles and PC in September 2024.

Developer All Possible Futures and publisher Devolver Digital announced the release date for The Plucky Squire in a new trailer this week. The game will be released on September 10, 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC. It will also land in the games library of the subscription service PS Plus Extra on day one.

First shown in 2022 during one of Devolver Digital's summer presentations, The Plucky Squire immediately caught our attention with its quirky charm and offbeat gameplay. You start off with the titular squire Jot in a standard fantasy adventure that could be compared to top-down games from Legend of Zelda. But soon Jot jumps off the pages into a more three-dimensional platforming style where he can immerse himself in other media in what looks like a kid's desk in their bedroom. There were a few different gameplay styles we've seen in previous trailers, including traditional JRPG gameplay and even Punch-Out!! style gameplay.

Now that The Plucky Squire finally has a release date, we're excited to see how the game turns out. Stay tuned for more updates and coverage on The Plucky Squire!
