This is why videos of Raygun's viral breakdance performance at the Olympics are being deleted from the internet

Whenever something big happens on the internet, a tsunami of memes and videos follows depicting the explosive inevitability of vomiting after eating medium rare chicken.

This was certainly the case with Australian breakdancer Raygun, whose performance at the Olympics sparked viral hype on the Internet, if not food poisoning.

Now we're at the stage where the internet is flooded with memes and commentary about Raygun's groundbreaking Olympic performance.

But as the clips continue to surface in floods, some observant Internet users may also notice that they are gradually disappearing from the Internet.

And there's a very specific reason why Raygun's videos and pictures disappear from the internet as soon as they're released.

The clips can be posted online, but that in no way exempts them from the laws that regulate who can publish what.

So if you post something that has been flagged, there is a chance that your post will be flagged because of it.

The issue, of course, is who owns the copyright to the footage of Raygun's viral appearance.

And in the case of Raygun's performance, the clips are the property of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

While there is an army of people sharing and posting clips of this viral moment, there are also people campaigning for the removal of the copyright-infringing posts.

In fact, the IOC takes relentless action against all posts that violate copyright.

This is because the videos are the property of the IOC and the organization sends a series of warnings to anyone caught posting something without their permission.

These posts would violate the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act).

And yes, that includes posting to your social media feeds on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

So if you want to avoid having your account banned for posting copyrighted material, it's best to avoid these memes.

Raygun's performance sparked controversy at the Olympics, with some questioning the reasons for her selection.

In her first statement since her appearance, she spoke openly about her experiences.

In a video posted on August 15, she said, “I really appreciate the positivity and am glad I was able to bring some joy into your lives, that's what I hoped.”

She continued: “I didn't realise that this would also open the door to so much hate, which was, frankly, quite devastating.

“But I went out and had fun.

“I've worked my ass off preparing for the Olympics and really tried my best. And I'm honoured to have been part of the Australian team and part of Australia's groundbreaking debut.”
